25/7/2024 0 Comments Be The Light.Hi Champions. In Matthew 5: 13-16, Jesus says that we’re the salt of the earth and the light of the world. He then says that people should see our good works. In other parts of the Bible, He tells us to keep our good works secret and hidden. Why? In other places, I think Jesus could be talking about the good works done to earn God’s approval, salvation, and even people’s approval. Perhaps here, He’s speaking of the good works that result from salvation. We can’t earn our salvation by good works. However, the good works we do after we’ve received salvation by grace through faith can be the light of Jesus to others. People can see the light of God through our good works and begin to glorify Him. Do you want to shine the light of Jesus to people? Do good works from a place of secured salvation. Let people glorify God and remember that our good works are not about us. Grace and Peace to you.

16/7/2024 0 Comments You Have A Good Heart.Hi Champions. Luke 6:45a tells us that a good man (or woman) brings good things out of the good stored up in their heart (paraphrased). Verse 43 also speaks of good trees bearing good fruit. When we give our lives to Jesus, He forgives us, washes us, makes us holy, and purifies us. He gives us a new heart and a new mind. He makes us good trees with good hearts, and we produce good fruit. Also, we can store up good things in our good hearts to bring out for other people. When we read the Bible, when we pray, when we worship God in song and action, we’re storing up good things in our good hearts. When we endure hardships and grow in God, we store up good things in our good hearts that we can bring out to help others. Take a moment to think about what good treasures are stored in your good heart that you can share with others.
